I was born in the town of Xanthi in Greece in 1963. After living for several years in Athens and New York I finally settled in my hometown. Currently, I split my time between Xanthi, where my studio is located, and the island of Thassos where many of my images are shot.
I have a degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration. I got involved in photography essentially around 2004 as an amateur (from Latin amator lover, amare to love). I am self-taught and I have been involved in most genres of photography but my preferences – at least for now - tend towards abstract / minimal, landscape, portrait, street and artistic nude.
Photography offers me the opportunity to create art, to express myself and to have fun. More than that, it offers me the opportunity to meet people and communicate with them.
With photography, I observe my environment and strive to show off its beauty. With photography, I come in contact with those things that scare me and attempt to come to terms with. With photography, I record fleeting moments and the ephemeral beauty hoping that this way they will not be wiped out by time but will become eternal.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my work.
